Cannes 2024

The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival has announced the films of the Official Selection. Cannes Film Festival sets the tone right with the Opening Film for the 2024. Quentin Dupieux‘s French-language comedy Le Deuxième Acte (The Second Act) was selected. Also, known as Mr. Oizo, the musician turned filmmaker Quentin Dupieux will open the 2024 Cannes Film Festival along side a dynamic cast that includes Léa Seydoux playing Florence, a woman who is ready to introduce David the man she is madly in love with (Louis Garrel), to her father Guillaume (Vincent London) with Raphaël Quenard playing the third wheel in the deal, Willy. The four characters meet in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Will Screen Out of Competition

The Out of Competition selection is stacked with potential. One of the first announcements regarding Cannes this year was that George Miller would be bringing Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga to The Croisette. and Peter Chan’s ‘She Has No Name’ lead the films on radar. Kevin Costner returns to the Croisette after 20 years of absence with ‘Horizon, An American Saga’. And the trifecta of Evan Johnson, Galen Johnson and Guy Maddin will have ‘Rumours’.

George Lucas who will receive an honorary Palme d’Or on Saturday, May 25, at the Closing Ceremony.
